The Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre is home to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League (AHL), the minor league affiliate of the NHL's Calgary Flames. It opened in 2009 and is located almost immediately west of the University of the Fraser Valley campus.
